Dyalá Jiménez is a Costa Rican national and specializes in international dispute resolution. She is an arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc international arbitrations and is a trained mediator for international disputes.

She has acted as arbitrator, mainly as presiding arbitrator, in more than 40 arbitrations covering different sectors, including energy, commercial, infrastructure, and investor-State disputes.

She is a member of the panel of arbitrators and conciliators for Costa Rica of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. She also sits on the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and on the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS).

Dyalá is recognized by Chambers & Partners 2024 as Band 1 International Arbitrators and by Who’s Who Legal 2024 as a Global Elite Thought Leader. She is the author of numerous publications and has taught in three universities, both in Costa Rica and Chile, where she lived and worked for almost 10 years (2004-2013).

Dyalá served in public office as advisor to the Minister of Finance (2013-2014) and as Minister of Foreign Trade (2018-2020) of Costa Rica.

She works mainly in Spanish and English and is also fluent in French and Portuguese.
